Rights - Any discussion about human rights (slavery, oppression) or animal rights (cruelty, abuse) must first address our Creator's rights. He has the right to command how we treat both His people and His animals.

Who impresses you?
After decades interviewing top scholars of science, philosophy, and theology, plus examining their research and conclusions, there is one person who alone impresses me. History (His-story) and His teachings reveal him to be the greatest scholar alive today.  In fact, He is the same: yesterday, today, and forever. Evidence demonstrates beyond reasonable doubt that he is far more than a mere scholar.  He is our Creator, Christ, the only Self-existent "I AM" - YHWH as predicted for thousands of years in 100's of detailed prophecies - His name is JESUS (Yeshua, meaning "God-Savior").
His wisdom is profound enough for any PhD, yet simple enough for any child.

Students, for those of you curious to know more about me and my background, feel free to read on below. But please remember that anything eternally positive that might have happened through me (or you for that matter) should be attributed to our Creator, Christ, not self. Our fumbling, stumbling efforts, if apart from His spiritual presence living through us, produce nothing of eternal value. He alone has the pure goodness, unselfish love, that sacrifices self for the true needs of others.

The Good Shepherd will lead you through any trial,

* As old age progresses, it becomes increasingly clear that life experience is more significant for personal growth than job experience or academic degrees.
* EVEN MORE OBVIOUS is the reality that I'm just an OLD absent-minded, fumbling, stumbling, sheepdog, so God alone is responsible for anything positive that has resulted from my efforts.

Founder / Developer / Director "® Good Shepherd Initiative"
® Good Shepherd Initiative actually began about 30 years ago while in graduate school, primarily as a free, volunteer, "no-fee" family education/counseling service, based upon the Creator's "family" character in Scripture. The number of hurting people seeking help, especially the poor and oppressed, was so great that the "waiting list" soon grew to over 50 people most of the time, sometimes taking months for a person or family on the list to finally get in for counseling. The ministry merged with a large local church to develop and expand a volunteer, peer counselor training program.

The volunteer peer counselor training and counseling was eventually handed over to the local church due to increasing requests for me to offer free seminars and workshops to educate and motivate others regarding the historical reality and practical value of a truly Good Shepherd worldview. Sadly, many of Christ's cornerstone truths and principles were being systematically censored from the culture by secular mainstream media, politically correct academia, and liberal Christianity. For Example:
- Our Creator's character is revealed as a GOOD Shepherd protector not a predatory designer of "survival of the fittest".
- Ecclesiastes 4:1 paraphrased says, "Then I looked and saw the tears of the oppressed, that they had no one to comfort them. Yet on the side of their [abusers] was power."  Therefore, the focus of my current volunteer non-profit work is the educating, motivating, and activating of others to stop predators, bullies, who abuse power/authority (exousia). This is the key to protecting powerless children, women, men, and yes even the Good Shepherd's nephesh animals in this fallen creation. My volunteer focus has narrowed over the years, increasingly reflecting this top priority of our Good Shepherd - to serve and rescue the oppressed.
* Seminars: Free presentations on family counseling, Scripture, science, etc., are now designed with an effort to motivate participants toward sacrificial attitudes and actions on behalf of God's priority: the weak, vulnerable, and oppressed. Unwittingly, many modern Christians, especially in the affluent West, are missing out on the most exciting and rewarding opportunity in life; that is, serving as one of His protectors. None of our modern pleasures and past times can satisfy like taking up our cross (Luke 9:23-26) on behalf of the most vulnerable of our Good Shepherd's fellow lambs.
* Church Mediation: Turning predatory survival of the fittest practices into protective peacemaking patterns.
* Crisis Family Counseling: Time constraints now limit my counseling to severe crises, especially involving individuals or families suffering from abuse and in need of an advocate, linking them to those who can rescue and restore.
* Animal Assisted Ministry: Having spent almost thirty years as both a animal keeper (zoo and wildlife rescue/rehabilitation) and my brother's keeper, it's a blessing to watch our Creator's animal creaturesabilit to reach hurting human hearts that have become closed due to human betrayal.

- Once a zookeeper, always a zookeeper, so a miniature menagerie has been maintained, at times consisting of over 25 aquariums/terrariums and featuring over 40 animals for the study of life and nephesh relationships.
(Licensed with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, possession, and release, therefore my classroom serves as a refuge for the rescue and restoration of wildlife in need.)
- Animal Assisted Ministry: the animals (especially young raccoons, opossums, and squirrels) serve as valuable assistants in reaching the hearts of students, parents, and counselees who have been hurt by humans.

Volunteer Church Planter (1997-2002)
After having spent thousands of dollars of our family's savings to help plant a small church group focused on meeting the counseling needs of hurting families, I learned the hard way that I am merely a SHEEPDOG not a SHEPHERD. Though the little church started with a Bible study and grew to a group of about 50-60 people, we ended up merging the group with an established local church. To acquire group medical insurance for our son's heart condition made this necessary. So I began teaching at a local college prep high school, and my wife returned to nursing.

Director / Counselor / Speaker (1988-1997)

- Maintained active caseload of counseling. Developed / taught numerous courses.
- Managed the BCTC staff, volunteers, finances, & monthly reports.
- Presented seminars and workshops around the country.

Animal Emergency Medical Technician / Laboratory-Pharmacy Manager
(1981-1983) Gentilly Veterinary Hospital
- Lived in and worked for this large animal hospital as the emergency medical technician for night emergencies, day time responsibilities involved anesthetizing animals for surgery, surgical preparation and assistance, pharmacy and laboratory management, X-Ray technician, etc.

Carnivore Zookeeper (1979-1981)
Audubon Zoological Gardens New Orleans, LA
(Literally lions, tigers, bears, elephants, leopards, wolves, etc.)
 - Learned valuable lessons about shepherding, through the training of animals (Adam, Moses, David, et al)
- Learned firsthand that God's complex creation is evidence for His power and wisdom (Romans 1)
- Later learned that macroevolution (gradual, vertical change from one "kind" of creature to a totally new "kind") is impossible, since the hypothesized mechanism (mutational errors) could not produce the massive mountain of new genetic information necessary (See Genetic Entropy, by Dr. John Sanford, Cornell Univ.)
- An a searching non-Christian, I resigned to travel and search for answer to the ultimate questions of life.  However, I stayed in town, remaining unofficially associated with the Zoo.

Scripture & Counseling Encouragement

Biblical Family Counseling / Seminars, etc:

John Babler, Ph.D., Assist. Prof. Social Work & Ministry Based Evangelism, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX.:
"God has given Sid Galloway a passion to study God's Word, a compassion for people, a burden for families, and an ability to teach people how  to implement the Bible's instructions for families.  I highly recommend his seminars both for their Scriptural accuracy and their practicality."

David Powlison, Ph.D., Editor of The Journal of Biblical Counseling, adjunct professor at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, author of numerous books and articles.
"Sid Galloway believes that the Scriptures are sufficient for counseling because the grace, truth, and power of the Lord of the Scriptures are abundantly sufficient to "cure souls." Sid's confidence is not simply a flag-waving confession of faith, taking a stand in the face of the facts. He knows the facts: the darkness of the human heart, the real-time sin and misery of real people living real life, the emptiness and shallowness of the answers our world proposes as solutions to life's problems, the practicalities of ministry that helps people change. His confidence in Christ  and in the effectiveness of the ministry of the Word is a tested, tried, and found worthy sort of confidence."

Dr. Wayne Mack, former Chairman of the graduate and undergraduate biblical counseling department at The Master's College, and pastor of Joint Heirs Fellowship Group at Grace Community Church (Dr. John MacArthur, senior pastor):
"I have known Sid Galloway for several years.  During this time, I have come to respect Sid for his gentle and yet firm commitment to the sufficiency of Christ and His Word in ministry to God's people.  On the numerous occasions when I have heard Sid teach on important Christian life and counseling issues I have been greatly blessed and helped.  I encourage anyone who can, to avail themselves of the opportunity to sit under the teaching of this godly and gifted servant of Christ."

Ed Bulkley, Ph.D., President- International Association of Biblical Counselors, Pastor L.I.F.E. Fellowship, Denver, CO., author of, Only God Can Heal The Wounded Heart, and radio host of Return To The Word:
"It has been my privilege to become acquainted with Sid Galloway in recent years through our mutual interest in Biblical counseling.  I have been impressed with his gentle spirit, his personal integrity, his depth of wisdom, and his absolute commitment to the sufficiency of the Word of God.  I heartily recommend his seminars on family living.  There aren't many out there who will point you again and again to the Scriptures to find answers for the problems of living.  Sid will!  I'm proud to call him a friend and fellow-laborer in Christ's Kingdom!"

John Kwasny, M.A., Director Christian Educ. & Family Life - Plains Presbyterian Church:
"Sid presents the best biblical family discipleship seminars we have ever had at our church.  His marriage and parenting seminars were solidly biblical and practical, and were well received by all who attended. ....I recommend his conferences highly to any church or group."

Steve Harden, M.Div., Pastor Southside Baptist Church, Ponca City, OK.       "It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend Sid Galloway to anyone who needs a seminar leader.  During our Biblical Counseling Conference, Sid did a great job in declaring the timeless truths of Scripture in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.  His presentations were insightful and well prepared.  His commitment to the sufficiency of God's Word in any circumstance was obvious.  I am confident that any topic Sid would present would be interesting and presented competently.  I count it a joy to consider Sid a friend and co-laborer in the cause of Christ."

The Pastors of Temple Baptist Church - Kenosha, Wisconsin:
"It was a real pleasure to have you here. My greatest regret is not getting enough time with you, but I am glad that many others were able to spend time with you. We have heard nothing but good words regarding your ministry here and we hope to have you up again next year. The words are difficult to find that express my gratitude to you and our God who allowed you to bless us in such a mighty way. The Holy Spirit is continuing that which was started when you came to us. Thank you so much for sharing yourself with us. [Our] prayer is that as God continues to use you in this mighty way, that you will continue to be blessed with humility. May God richly bless your family for sharing you with us. Please let them know that we understand that their sacrifice is greatly appreciated."

Steve Barrett, M.Div., Pastor, Church-planter, Fairbault, Minnesota.
"I had the privilege to experience Sid's teachings on various subjects for a period of over 3 years. His presentations are above all based solely on  what the Bible teaches on the specific subject being presented.  He  challenges those who participate in his classes to examine the entire Bible for applications.  Sid provides an environment for learning that is not only informative but enjoyable as well.  I highly recommend Sid Galloway to you if you desire to have a seminar that is Biblically based, informative, and applicable to the  problems we all face in today's society."

* Teachers, I hope the following words of encouragement to me will also encourage you. Never forget that your teaching "ministry" to your students is worth far more than you get in your paycheck.

Participants of Creator's Way Q & A Discussion Adult Night @ NCS
"Sid, It was great to meet you, and your wife too!  The presentation was fascinating, and I'm taking copies of your handouts to the mother of my 17 year old cousin who is so confused about God's existence.  I was so blessed by many things you said.  The realization that God's design was not for suffering, but that suffering was brought upon all creation as a result of the sin of man, was there all the time in scripture, but I never had quite wrapped my head around it.  I understand Romans 8:18-25 so much better now.  I understand God more than I did when I entered your classroom last night.  For God to reveal more of himself to me, and no doubt to everyone else in that room, even though you were presenting through your illness, is SO like God!!  Be encouraged, because His power is made perfect in our weakness!  I am encouraged that God has provided the children of Northlake with a teacher like you, to teach His truth.  I am especially looking forward to attending more presentations in the future.
Keep feeding the sheep!  : ) R___________"

"Sid, It was awesome. I can't wait for you to have more. I have already posted your web site and the creation museum info to my friends on Facebook. I am definitely going to go visit it.  [My college daughter] had a question about the universe and I encouraged her to email you. . . .
Thanks again, C________"

Robert Beach, MD. - My High School Biology Teacher after 30 years:
Thirty years ago, my own biology teacher told me that I ought to consider teaching biology.  Instead, I pursued careers in zookeeping, counseling, seminar speaking - - finally, teaching.  Teachers, never underestimate the impact you can have on a student - even long term!  By the way, my biology teacher still teaches biology (upgraded) - for a medical school in Texas.
"I enjoyed catching up on what you have been doing for the last 30 years.  I know you find it hard to believe but I remember you well as a bright and inquisitive student.  Obviously, I am quite proud of you.  My family will keep your family, especially your son, in our thoughts and prayers.  Your web-site and organization of your classes is quite impressive.  I could learn a lot from you.  The semester I taught at [ _______ High School] was a highlight of my life.  I enjoyed it so much that I almost did not enter medical school that fall and considered remaining as a teacher.
Please keep me posted on your son’s surgery and progress."

An author working on a textbook teacher's manual:
"I stumbled on your website this morning.  I am part of a team that is writing the biblical worldview to accompany a secular textbook.  Thanks for the plant help.  May I use your website as a reference for enrichment to share in the teacher's manual? I will be careful to give you credit. I live in Texas, but I grew up in Louisiana. I am so thankful for such truth to be beaming from way down south.
Blessings to you and your precious family."

A couple teaching science and Scripture to the youth in their church:
"Hi!  I just found your website, and I LOVE it!  [We] are currently teaching the AiG curriculum, "It All Begins With Genesis" to our church’s . . . boys’ class, and I wish I had found your site sooner for supplemental material. . . ."

A teacher in North Carolina:
"Thank You.  I teach at _________ in Asheboro, NC.  I again, really appreciate your site.  I would like to make a webpage like yours one of these days.  (Somehow I should work that into my curriculum and get the students to start it...)  We will be praying for you all too.  Those storms were horrible this year."

A California college student studying science from a secular slant:
"Dear Mr. Galloway, I am currently attending a Cal. State University (a very liberal school).  I am in school to get my teaching credential . . . .  I love teaching and want to continue.  I am taking Biology this semester.  As you might suspect, every class is focused on evolution.
In fact, the teacher is so preoccupied with evolution that she is seriously missing the opportunity to inspire her students to be intrigued by science.  I, however, am daily amazed at the wonders of God's creation.  Thank you for your wonderful website for Biology.  I was searching for a resource with bio/Christian influence to support -or not - what I've been learning.  . . . . Teachers don't mind critical opinions as long as a student agrees with him.  . . .  I'm seeing BIO from both angles and am more convinced than ever that God is awesome.
Thanks, I hope your students appreciate you."

A parent of one of my students:
"Mr. Galloway,
I just wanted to express my gratitude for your website.  It has helped ______ so much over the last 6 months with all your notes for class.  But most of all, it is such a blessing every time we visit the site because all the info reminds us just how awesome our mighty God is and how his power rules our lives.  Thank you and your family for all your efforts into Northlake and your ministry.
In Christ,"

A student in science class:
"Dear Mr. Galloway,
I want to thank you for taking the time to teach at out school. I understand that the pay isn't that much, and that the teachers work at Northlake Christian because they feel led to. You are a blessing to me, . . . due to you teaching us all of our "promotion hints" [to show respect by saying, Yes, sir] I have certainly learned a lot from you, and I know that when I get my very first [job] promotion that the extra "mula" will go to the dark chocolates to you!! All I wanted to do is tell you thank you, I appreciate you, and I hope to live a strong Christian life just like you! Thank You.  Your student."

A Science Teacher in SC:
""Mr. Galloway,
I've really enjoyed looking through your science web page.  I teach . . . science in SC and have recently begun to use PowerPoint on the big screen.

A Science Student in VA:
"Mr. Galloway,
Hi I found your website through Google, I am working a college essay for my biology class and the topic I have chosen is inbreeding ...I don’t really know that much about it, just that it's been done with such that as tigers, lions, horses, zebras, ext. . . . . I want to find out as much as possible to understand it.  . . . . I am really happy to have found a website also that is bible based.
Thanks for your time,"

A Science Teacher in Los Angeles:
Sorry to bother you, but I'm an overwhelmed, generally clueless first year bio teacher and just came across your wonderful website while looking for ideas about teaching DNA replication.  I had a couple of quick questions and thought I'd take a second to pose them in an email. If you don't have the time for or interest in understanding them, I completely understand...but if you have a moment - thanks in advance! . . . .
Take care,"

A Science Teacher:
"Mr. Galloway,
I teach life science too in Nevada.  I want you to know how much I enjoy your web site for your class. I wish I could teach using the Bible as a teaching standard as you can.  . . .
Anyway, I wanted to tell you thank you for your site."

A Web visitor:
"I just was cleaning out some saved e-mail and really got a chance to comb through your website.  I must say, your site is one of the best Christian sites I've seen on the web.   You truly have a gift not only for recognizing the principles outlined in the scriptures, but also for communicating those principles effectively."

A Student's Parent:
"Dear Mr. Galloway,
I just wanted to thank you for Fridays' science class. It has been years since [our son] came home from school and told us how much fun a class was.  He was very excited. He often repeats things that he has learned in your class. We are very grateful that [our son] has been blessed with you.
Thank You,"
